ULTIMATE VACAY PREPPIN’
Going on holiday is the ultimate time of the year for enjoyment (the really lucky ones get to go more than once), so the motto is, quite rightly: sit back & relax. Once we get to expose our pale skins to the sun, like the true princesses we are, we want to parade across the beach in the most relaxed way possible. But which clothes should you pack in order to look your best every day? My golden tip consists of just one word: BASICS.
Make sure you stuff your suitcase with basics in every kind of colour, fabric and model. Once you arrive at your holiday destination, you can mix and match your tops endlessly and combine with high-waisted shorts, short (print) skirts or just some bikini bottoms. The very best thing about that is that, when you’re getting ready for dinner in the evening, all you have to do is put a nice hat on and you’re ready to shine!
Because you only really feel good, sexy and self-confident when your outfit is comfortable instead of having awkward closures on your dress, tight zippers or sticky fabrics. Are you someone who quickly gets bored of your outfits? If so, make sure you put a couple of bright shades of nail varnish in your wash bag and take enough jewellery, etc. with you for endless variations. Because those little gold and silver rings are still totally hot this summer and no-one ever went wrong with an armful of bangles either!
Personally, I’m a big fan of packing a pair of heels and espadrilles in colours such as light (olive) green, blue and camel.
In other words: don’t skimp on the basic tops and dresses, but supplement your outfit and personality with jewellery, hats, bags, lots and lots of sunglasses and so on. And if you’re still short on inspiration, throw on a blouse or go sassy by wearing oversized items on top of one another.
Everyone says I’m crazy, but I put a tiny bit of BB cream with sun protection on my face when I’m on holiday in order to even my lightly tanned skin tone in places where necessary.
