Learn how to deal with aloneness & how to love me-time
Alone – being without the presence of other people. This definitly does not means being alone is something negative. Turn it in something positive and don’t call it aloneness or being alone. Give it a positive twist: call it me-time! Just some time only thinking about me, myself and I and spend some time just with yourself. Learn to love me-time & enjoy every minute. How? Read more.
Aloneness entails many advantages. Because once you actually sit down and deal with this topic, you see how fast it can devolve into me-time! Me-time is the time you take for yourself while enjoying every little bit of it.
We are scared of being alone, because often we don’t know ourselves good enough. We don’t know what to do with ourselves. Get to know yourself better. Start transforming aloneness into me-time with little steps at a time.
Overcoming the hard beginning
Every beginning is hard. Because of that, it is easier staring with small steps:
#1 consciously shopping alone
Create a list of the stores you want to visit & set a goal before! Think of an item, you’d really like to buy today. Are you going on a bra hunt (which is easiest to buy by yourself anyway 😉 ) or is your goal to shop a new dress with some nice hosiery? Is your closet already full? Shop a book & have some me-time after shopping, while reading it.
#2 stay home alone one evening on a weekend
Enjoy some home alone time during the weekend. Nevertheless stay home with or without a plan. This will make life a lot easier. Go for a Netflix marathon, pamper yourself with facemasks and lay in the bathtub. Go to bed early and read a book (which you have bought while your me-time shopping date).
#3 sit in a café or go to a restaurant
Yes, it’s can feel really weird sitting at a table in a café or a restaurant all by yourself. You have the feeling everybody around you is looking at you. But that’s your imagination – believe us – if they are staring at you, it’s only because they are amazed by the fact that you have no problem with being alone! And if you do feel uncomfortable, bring a book or a magazine with you and read it. Maybe your future husband will join dinner spontaneously, who knows ;).
Loneliness for advanced people
After accomplishing these three small steps, not feeling uncomfortable with being alone & enjoying your me-time, then you can attempt the next step. How about a daytrip to the lake or sightseeing in a nice city? Professionals even plan whole vacations all by themselves…
As you can see, there are no worries of being alone, enjoy the chance of having some me-time! Have fun while testing! Shop your cozy me-time look now.
