Summer, sun, sand, sea and sunscreen, a recipe for an amazing day out! Try and picture it. A lovely beach and clear blue water. You’re wearing your new bikini and your I’ll read it when I have time-book is next to you together with a cold drink. The sun is out and you just want to soak up the warm rays since well, winter came, it was long and we’re not missing it at all. So, how can we enjoy hours on the beach without harming our skin? Hunkemöller has the tips if you have the time.
Why you need sunscreen ?
You need it because it’s magic in a bottle! It prevents the suns UVB and UVA rays to get too deep into your skin and damaging it in ways that sometimes can’t be repaired. With sunscreen you’ll prevent sun damage such as pigmentations, fast aging skin and getting burnt – we’ve all been there and it HURTS! – and will keep your skin calm and hydrated.
Do I even tan when I use SPF?
Girl, YES! It will take a tiny bit longer, but you’ll definitely get tanned when using sunscreen. It’s a good idea to start with a higher SPF and slowly build the tan up. It lessens the risk for sun damage and you’ll keep that bronzy look a lot longer!
SPF for your face
Can you use the same sunscreen for your body and face? Of course you can – but should you?
We’re gonna say no. The big difference between the 2 is that face sunscreens have a lighter formula, more comfortable on the skin and are packed with extra goodies. We’re talking no clogged pores, no break outs, no white layer on the skin, no need to pause your selfiegame. Go for 30+ SPF and enjoy yourself.
Chapstick with SPF? Really?
YES, really! Your lips are just as exposed to the sun, and they need the same love and care as the rest of your skin. To prevent dry lips we recommend using a SPF for lips during the day and a rehydrating lip creme during the night. Zero effort, maximum benefits.
What else can you do?
Always reapply sunscreen after you’ve been in the water (Water resistant doesn’t last forever), stay in the shadow during the warmest hours (you’ll still get that gorgeous tan) and don’t underestimate the power of fabulous cover-up, your skin will thank you for it!
