Tips for those staying at home this summer
For the girls who are staying at home this summer, Hunkemöller ambassador & fashionista Yuyan has come up with 5 fun things that will make spending the summer at home seem not so bad.
It’s always a horrible feeling when you see all those fun holiday pictures on Social Media. It feels like you’re the only one trudging to school or work every day. Even when you do get the odd sunny day, it’s no consolation. All the same, it’s not so bad staying at home, for there are plenty of fun things you can do:
- Give your house/room/balcony a boost
Do up your home or room. If necessary, choose one corner or room to tackle completely. My boyfriend and I are the proud owners of a mini balcony. Thanks to a little tangerine tree, wooden decking tiles and streak-free windows, we wake up happy every day. Yes, it will take up a day for sure and it doesn’t need to be expensive. Because a few violets look just as nice. If you don’t have a balcony, a new colour on the wall or a rug from H&M Home also works wonders 😉
- Cooking course
I haven’t done it myself yet… but I would really love to go on a cooking course with a girlfriend this summer. Apart from the fact that you enjoy the benefits for the rest of your life, it’s also a nice hobby and a great thing to do together!
If your wallet won’t stretch to that, hit the web and you’re sure to find plenty of great recipes. Spring rolls are my all-time favourites – super healthy and really tasty.
- Vamos a la playa
Take the train or car to the beach. This summer, there’s a good chance you’ll find me at George Zandvoort. This is also where our ‘Hunkemöller ambassador day’ was held, and it’s just really relaxed there. Apart from the fact that the decor is one big Instagram paradise, you feel like you’re abroad for a day.
- Trial lesson
Take a trial lesson somewhere. Dancing lessons, sport or something else creative! This can be fun on your own too. I went salsa dancing for the first time last weekend. I haven’t had so much fun in ages!!
- A weekend awayGo away for a weekend. It might be a total cliché, but you really don’t need to go far from home. I plan to go to Maastricht this month – never been there. I need to work out the exact details, but the idea of shopping, a beauty salon and Japanese food gives me a warm feeling inside.
It’ll be much cheaper and the temperatures are still lovely everywhere in September. Plus, how great is it to be enjoying yourself abroad somewhere while everyone else is back at work? Sunny greetings…………
